Valentines Décor Ideas We Heart
Around Valentine's Day, my daughter and I love doing DIY décor to celebrate. There are so many great ideas out there, from table to wall décor. I usually gravity to décor that is simple and subtle. Plus, you want something easy to do so the little 5-year-old doesn’t get bored, and ditch you half way through the project, which Aria is notorious for.
Here are our top DIY ideas we found that we are going to try out this year.

Candy Hear Garland: I don’t know about you, but I love candy heart. I love the fun colours and the cute messages. Here is a cute little garland DIY idea from Tell Love and Party. Aria loves stamping anything paper - so it is a pretty easy décor idea to do with lil ones. Plus, this a fun garland to dress up your fire mantle. |
Mason Jars: Mason Jars can go along way with a little bit of paint and some creativity. It is also a cost effective way to decorate a table or a bedside table (who doesn't want to wake up to a beautiful vase of flowers. Here is a great DIY Valentine mason jar that you can do with the kids at home. Check out It all Started with Paint to give you some ideas. |
Heart Prints: Another easy way to decorate your home, is to change the photos in your existing photo frames, with fun hearts prints or messages of love. This idea is one of my faves – it’s quick and easy and adds a pop of colour. You can find a few prints online or make them yourself. Have fun and pick/make the art with your kids. Here's some inspiration from SAY YES. |
Valentines Garland: Okay this involves a little more work but it's a nice way to add some foliage with a touch of red or pink (true Valentine's Day colours) in the house and you can reuse it for spring. I love this DIY garland idea from Grace in My Space. Not sure if my 5 year old will be up for making it though, but she will be excited to have one in her room. |
I hope I given some ideas you can try out yourself with the kiddos. Enjoy your Valentine's’ Day however you wish to celebrate!
