The Liberty Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts was formally the home of the Charles Street Jail! Inmates included Malcolm X and Boston's own mayor, James Curley. The Jail closed its doors in the 90's due to overcrowding - so naturally it was later converted into a high-end establishment. Guests can dine in what's left of the original jail cells at the eatery and have a drink at where used to be the drunk tank. If you want to experience what it was like to stay there back in the day, you can ask to stay in one of the rooms that still includes real parts of the jail (with some added flair).

This article would not be complete with out the mention of Giraffe Manor. This is a place that is on many of our bucket lists. Giraffe Manor is an exclusive boutique hotel where extraordinary wildlife comes together with exquisite hospitality. The manor is set on 12 acres of private land where its resident herd of giraffes often visit the main house in the morning and evenings - poking their long necks into the windows in hopes of a treat. The Giraffe Manor not only is situated in one of the most beautiful places in wildlife, but it has been a huge part of supporting the growth and protection of these animals. If you are lucky enough to stay here one day, be sure to also explore the Kenya Safari with the Safari Collection. You will not be disappointed.
