Many of us may not be venturing far this summer, but these destinations will transport you, even if its just for a day! For your next road trip, why not go to Suable Beach! With 11km of soft sand stretches, Suable operates with a sunset stand of mind. It’s all about living on beach time, in flip flops, with the people you love.
Favourite thing about this spot: time disappears. You’re brought back to being a kid again and spending days at the beach…eating ice cream and swimming…and begging your parents you don’t want to go home!
Notable places to nosh: Heydays at the June Motel have reinvented costal classics and old school favourites. It’s the ultimate patio – you will be hanging out under the string lights with feel good music, wine, and delicious eats. Casero Taco Bus, in Suable Beach, is a must visit. We’re obsessed with chargrilled chicken taco and hot cheese nachos. Plus, they have a killer margarita! Brunch at The Wellness Refinery is a great way to recharge with colourful smoothie bowls, fresh avocado toast, and pink lattes!
Where to shop: Patch is an iconic second clothing and accessory store on the main strip in Suable. It has everything you need from vintage tanks to sunglasses. One our favourite place to shop is at Grit & Grace, it’s a women’s boutique where you will find beautiful but classic pieces. But also
Hikes and Adventure: Bruce Trail is well known for avoid hikers because its 900km long. Get a little taste of nature’s finest on connected trails like Hogg Falls (Flesherton), Inglis Falls (Owen Sound) or tourist spot like Devil’s Monument (Dyer’s Bay). The hike is short, but the views are beautiful. If your up for drive, then would highly recommend (its about 40 mins away) a visit to Tobermory, it’s a lakeside town known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, which offers the perfect lens to explore the area’s 20-plus shipwrecks. Those looking for adventure on land will want to check out the Bruce Peninsula National Park. Another spot to check out is Meaford Harbour, with its prime view of Georgian Bay. Grab takeout from one of the main-street restaurants and enjoy eating by the famous breakwall! Best places for souvenirs: If you end up in Meaford, then check out Grandma Lambe, it offers a variety of home-made jams and baked goods. In Suable, Jack n Jill’s sells the dreamiest Suable beach T-shirts and tees.
