Manifestation has become nothing short of a buzzword in recent years, but what is it? And how can you get started using it to attract what you want in life?
So, what is manifestation? Manifestation—or the laws of attraction— defines your ability to attract into your life, what you focus on. Think of it as, like attracts like. What you put out into the world is what you get back. Your mind is like a magnet, and the energy you give off will return to you. That's the idea.
Keep in mind: It doesn't happen overnight. Although manifesting is about turning your dreams into reality, it does require you to take proactive steps toward whatever it is you desire. You shouldn’t expect it to happen instantly—but even though it's a lengthy process, that time is a small price to pay for a (hopefully) profound impact on your life.
So how do you get started?
Once you’ve pinpointed exactly what your hopes, dreams, and goals are, you need to ask the universe for what you want. This can be done in a variety of ways—positive affirmations, meditation, visualization, speaking your intentions out loud, journaling, creating a vision board of what you want to manifest—but you need to say exactly what you want.
Make a vision board: Piecing together your goals with images and words on a vision board gives your mind the freedom to wander. Hang up your board somewhere you’ll see it every day. Seeing your vision board is a great reminder to keep going.
Keep a journal: it gives you a safe space to record your thoughts, worries, and goals without judgment. You can always be yourself on paper. We love the Human Being Journal, it gives you guided questions rooted in fundamental pillars of a happy life—including health, career, and relationship.
Positive affirmations: repeating positive thoughts daily trains your mind to think positively more automatically. It will help boost your self-confidence. Practice repeating it every morning or before stressful events like tests, presentations, or hard conversations. Some examples include:
To alleviate anxiety & stress:
I am calm, I am in control.
I am stronger than my anxiety.
I am enough. I did enough. I can let go
To build confidence & motivation:
I am a leader, and challenges help me grow
I am strong, I am capable, and I feel great
I am choosing to be helpful and kind
To build self-esteem & self worth:
I am worthy of being loved, respected, and listened to
I stand strong in my personal power today
I am proud, confident, and happy with myself
Show Gratitude: while you may not get everything you envision in the order and time frame you want; you should receive and acknowledge what you do get—no matter how big or small it may be. Gratitude is the key. You can keep a gratitude journal and before bed, spend five to 10 minutes writing down a few things for which you are grateful, as well as anything that happened that day to bring you closer to whatever it is you’re trying to manifest.
Let go of any resistance or limiting beliefs: in addition to changing your mindset and behaviors, you will need to remove any obstacles or limiting beliefs that may cloud your vision, including fear and negative self-talk. To move past your limiting beliefs, it’s essential that you identify what exactly they are. To do this, ask yourself: What are the beliefs I have about myself that may be inhibiting my progress? Cross out any limiting beliefs and write your new affirmations in their place. Jot down your answers, and then replace any negative feelings with positive ones. For example, if your limiting belief is “I am incomplete without a man” reverse it with “I am complete as I am”
Check your energy: energy is everything. Which means if you are continually sending out negative energy—through either your thoughts or feelings—you will attract that same energy back to you. However, if you can lift your energy and focus on activities that cultivate feelings of joy and happiness, you will attract positivity which will help realize your goals.
Just remember, trust the process. Faith is a powerful motivator and guiding force. So, go with the flow.
What is the fastest way to manifest your dreams? If you see it and feel it, you will achieve it. Don’t give the universe mixed signals...and act. Ask the universe for what you want and keep an eye out for signs of achievement or success. The only thing stopping you from manifesting your dreams is you!
