Holiday Fitness Survival Guide from Level "UPP"

With the Holidays approaching, it’s easy to indulge, skip a workout or two, be stressed and voila you’ve gained some weight. We get it, this sh!t can be hard, as Christmas is a time of celebration with loved ones while enjoying delicious food.

That’s why we caught up with personal trainer Rajan Uppal from Level Upp to get some expert advice on how to stay on track - without restricting yourself or skipping out on the festivities.

Be Realistic - go into the season with specific intentions in mind and create some goals. It could be drinking fewer cocktails to working out 3 times a week. Whatever you decide, reminding yourself of why you want to stay on track will help keep you motivated while enjoying the festive season.

Eat your Greens – and eat them…first. Why? Vegetables tend to be high in nutrients and fiber which not only fills you but also helps prevents you from overeating.  And don’t skip any meals to ‘save” those calories…it can still lead to overeating.

Be Active – It seems like there’s always an excuse not to exercise. But hear us out – a.m. workouts are the real deal. Why? We are talking about good vibes that last all day, feeling energetic and metabolism boost to help us burn more calories throughout the day.

But remember, there’s no right or wrong time to move your body. Pick a workout time that works for you. Consistency counts more than timing. Here are some quick Fitness routines to help kick start your day!

Drink More Water – hydration is important and the key to keeping your energy up throughout the day. Plus it will help prevent overeating!

Get out of the House – whether it’s walking or doing a physical activity outdoor – it’s a great way to get those muscles moving!

And finally, lose the guilt. Enjoy the holidays and don’t beat yourself up. If you take miss-step, try to get back on track as soon as you possibly can.
