When we finish a workout, our first instinct is to get out of the gym as quickly as humanly possible. But as much as we want to head straight to the shower, we know we should be doing some cool-down exercises. Why? Prioritizing a cool-down will make sure you reap all the rewards of your hard work(out).
Some people may think that overlooking cooling down can cause no harm. In fact, cooling down is an essential part of the workout – it safely slows down your heartrate, it prevents injury by allowing your body to recover and increased flexibility, allowing you to avoid muscle tears, back pain, and joint issues.
