It feels like we are living the same day over and over, and no day feels any different – even when there is a reason. It is a birthday, anniversary, milestone, retirement, it's a holiday … however, we can't celebrate our loved ones like we are used to with gatherings, showering with gifts, drinks and hugs and kisses. Nowadays we are have to get more creative. Here are some ways we suggest to make your loved ones feel extra loved on their special days:
Balloons! You can never go wrong with balloons. Having an arrangement delivered with a personalized note is the perfect way to acknowledge a milestone or birthday. We found Emri Rose Décor does beautiful balloon and backdrops for any occasion.
Gift Baskets. There are many different companies that can put together a gift basket for you – and they have premade ones based on themes. Baskits is one that is well known, but a quick search will help you find a local find too. Or you can also collect items from local businesses and make your own that personalizes it for that special someone. Here are some of our favourite local finds
Coffee Catch Up. What we are craving the most lately is personal interaction. I know we can't throw a big party, but maybe you can drop off a cup of much needed Java on the porch and have a distanced chat in the driveway. Even though we can't hug and kiss, at least some face-to-face interaction can fill a little bit of that personal void.
Finally a good ol virtual party (although virtual seems old hat these days). Coordinate a zoomcall with a few close friends (as too many can get a bit chaotic) – have everyone make the time to prepare their fave drinks and eats and get comfortable. To chat and celebrate the person that is so dear to you.
These are some tips that we hope help you help your friends and family members still feel the love throughout our current environment. Soon we hope to see the end of this pandemic and we will all run into the streets hugging and celebrating together again!
