For some tips on what to consider when buying swimwear, here is what we found:
- The Fit: first make sure of the fit and remember you want the bathing suit to be snug but not too tight. Often your swimwear will expand when it gets wet - so you don't want it to look saggy
- How about a two piece: bikinis/two piece suits are versatile when it comes to fit - they are often adjustable. Depending on the degree of support you need - you can go from a string bikini to one that may have thicker straps. You may also want to ensure there is underwire for that extra comfort/support
- Consider mis-matching: Most women will likely need a different sized top and bottom. Having said that, don't worry about the size number - it's about how you feel in the swimsuit. Every company has different standards in their sizing - so the number doesn't matter
- Price and Quality: Remember price doesn't always determine quality. Sometimes you are paying for the brand name. It is about the details when it comets quality - look at the stitching, test the stretch and compression. To ensure your swimwear lasts the test of time, it is recommended that you rinse in cold water after wearing, hand wash and don't put them in the dryer.
- Confidence! the most important factor in sporting a swimsuit is confidence. It is about how you feel - you feel good, then it is the perfect fit. Although comfort and confidence means different things for different people - it is about how comfortable you are, if you can participate in the activities you are set out to do.
